ANCHORAGE (Nov. 27) - Seven Cowboys scored in double figures as Oklahoma State ran away from host Alaska Anchorage 98-69 in the first men's game of the 2002 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout Wednesday at Sullivan Arena.
Tony Allen and Janavor Weatherspoon each came off the bench to score 17 points for OSU (2-0), while the Seawolves (1-2) were led by a career-high 19 points from senior forward Shane Bannarbie.
Sophomore guard Mark Drake was the only other Seawolf in double figures with 14 points.
OSU's Ivan McFarlin was voted Carrs/Safeway Player of the Game for his 14-points, 14-rebound effort.
UAA fell behind early and trailed 55-28 at the half. Seawolf leading scorer Peter Bullock, who entered the game averaging 24 points and 11 rebounds, was held to just eight points and five boards.
The Division II Seawolves have now lost five straight Shootout games after beating Rhode Island on Day 2 of the 2000 tournament.
Oklahoma State advances to Friday's early semifinal against the winner of College of Charleston and Wyoming.
