Zias outshine Seasiders for first win

ANCHORAGE – Sophomore center Jasmine Johnson had 13 points and eight rebounds Wednesday to lead the Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team to its first victory over the season, 66-45 over Brigham Young-Hawaii in the AT&T Hoops Classic at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

The Zias (1-10) also got 11 points and four rebounds from sophomore guard Ashlee Pierson as they built a 30-15 halftime lead and dominated throughout.

The Seasiders (1-6) were led by 11 points and 10 rebounds from sophomore forward Brianna Jessop.

Johnson shot 6 of 10 and added a pair of assists as the Lone Star Conference squad outrebounded their foes from the Pacific West Conference by a 47-35 count.
