Yellow Jackets buzz through Nanooks, 73-44

ANCHORAGE – Sophomore guard Abby Wolford scored 21 points and dished four assists Sunday to power Cedarville to a 73-44 women's basketball victory over Alaska Fairbanks in the Seawolf Hoops Classic at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Yellow Jackets (7-4) – the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference champions – also got 19 points and six rebounds from guard Kaysie Brittenham as they won for the sixth time in seven games.

The Nanooks (5-7) were led by 14 points and seven rebounds from junior forward Jordan Wilson.

Cedarville jumped to a 30-18 lead after one quarter and never trailed, holding UAF to 23.3 percent (14-60) shooting and winning the rebounding battle 56-29.
