LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 27) - Three players scored 10 points each to lead No. 25 Kentucky to a 62-42 victory over the UAA men's basketball team at Rupp Arena in front of 19,872 fans. Scott Larrabee scored a game-high 14 points and Serge Using posted the game's best rebounding total with 13 in the loss.
The meeting was the fifth-ever between the schools, and the 20-point margin is the closest the Seawolves have ever come to the Wildcats.
Despite the loss, the Seawolves showed their strong rebounding ability, beating the 'Cats on the boards, 46-44. However, UAA could not take advantage of second chances on their 18 offensive caroms, shooting only 15 of 59 from the floor. The Seawolves (5-3) held the Wildcats to 1-of-17 three-point shooting.
UAA will try to keep its record against non-Division I competition perfect when it travels to Marietta, Ga., to take on Carver Bible College on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. AST.
