UAA women crush CWU, 62-41

ANCHORAGE (Jan. 6) - Tiffany Massey notched her third double-double of the season to lead the UAA women's basketball team to its sixth straight victory, 62-41, at the Sports Center tonight. The Seawolves improved to 10-2 overall and a Pac West-leading 6-0.

Massey, a junior forward from Payson, Utah, scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in just 18 minutes of action. Senior forward Stephanie Smith had 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals with only one turnover.

The Seawolves held Central Washington's leading scorer, Kristen Willis, to eight points on 2-of-12 shooting. However, her point total was still tops for the Wildcats (8-3, 1-2 PWC), whose seven-game winning streak was snapped.

UAA shot 48.1 percent from the floor while holding CWU to 20.3 percent marksmanship. The Seawolves outrebounded the Wildcats 46-33.

UAA returns to action Saturday night when it hosts Saint Martin's at 7:05 p.m. at the Sports Center.
