ANCHORAGE (Oct. 13) - The University of Alaska Anchorage volleyball team played one of its best matches of the season but couldn't stop Seattle Pacific as the Falcons won their 15th consecutive match 15-9, 9-15, 15-7, 8-15, 15-10 at the Sports Center tonight.
Senior outside hitter Heather Riter had a double-double for UAA with 12 kills and 10 digs, while Brianne Halling (13), Cami Gardner (12) and Michelle Garvin (11) all contributed double-digit kills for UAA (10-15, 6-3 Pac West).
Leah Wiiest and Stephanie Huffman combined for 35 kills for Seattle Pacific (15-3, 10-0), whose winning streak is a school record.
UAA Junior setter Janelle Morrisette also had a standout performance with 49 assists and 20 digs, while senior Latika Chandler had five service aces.
The Seawolves return to the court Saturday at 7:05 p.m. when they host Western Washington (16-5, 8-0).
