NAMPA, Idaho (Oct. 6) - The University of Alaska Anchorage volleyball team suffered just its second conference loss in seven matches, falling 15-6, 5-15, 15-10, 15-11 to Northwest Nazarene here tonight.
Senior Vanessa Tsukano led UAA with 18 kills and sophomore Cami Gardner posted a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. She also tallied a match-high seven blocks for UAA (9-14, 5-2 Pac West).
The Crusaders (11-4, 7-2) were led by Louise Free's 15 kills. NNU outhit the Seawolves .161 to .150 but UAA had 59 digs to NNU's 48.
The match marked the first ever meeting between the schools in volleyball.
The Seawolves complete their short road trip at Seattle University on Saturday. The Seawolves return home Oct. 13-14 to play Seattle Pacific and Western Washington.
