ANCHORAGE (Feb. 10) - Bogdan Popescu scored a game-high 21 points and had 15 rebounds as the University of Alaska Fairbanks won at the Sports Center for the first time since 1984, 78-68. Serge Using had career-highs of 18 points and 18 rebounds for the Seawolves (13-8, 2-5 Pac West), while Devin Dawkins added 15 points and four assists for the Nanooks (10-12, 4-3 PWC).

The loss was UAA's first to its arch rival in 19 games at the Sports Center. It was also just the second UAF win in the last 24 overall meetings between the teams.

The Seawolves led 34-30 at the half, but the Nanooks began the second stanza on a 10-2 run and built their lead as high as 13 at 51-38. UAA clawed back within four but couldn't make a three-pointer down the stretch as UAF closed the game strong.
