Women's Basketball UAA Media Relations

No. 21 Vikings rally past UAA women 63-60

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington scored the game's final 12 points to post a 63-60 comeback victory over the University of Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team at Carver Gymnasium tonight.


UAA (3-10, 1-7 Pac West) got nine points and 10 rebounds from senior Tiffany Massey, while center Dana Bottoms led the Seawolves with 12 points. Pamela Lovely had a game-high 13 points for the 21st-ranked Vikings (10-3, 6-2).


The Seawolves went ahead 60-51 on a jumper by Regina Wilhelm (11 points, 4-4 FG) with 4:20 remaining. But UAA would not score again and Lovely scored five points down the stretch for WWU.


UAA shot over 50 percent (27-51) for just the second time in three games as well as outrebounding the Vikings 32-30. However, UAA got the free throw line just four times and committed 26 turnovers.


The Seawolves continue their road trip Thursday at league-leading Northwest Nazarene.
