NAMPA, Idaho - Senior guard Tiffany Massey matched her career-high with 19 points, but it wasn't enough as the University of Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team lost 79-67 to league-leading Northwest Nazarene at Montgomery Fieldhouse tonight.
Senior center Dana Bottoms scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for UAA (3-11, 1-8 Pac West), which dropped its third straight. The Crusaders (9-4, 7-2) were paced by center Kasha Lawrence's 26-point effort, while guard Chelsey Hall scored 23 points on 5-of-9 three-point shooting.
UAA led 38-36 at halftime and the game remained close until the final minutes before the Seawolves began fouling in an effort to catch up.
Massey, who also had seven rebounds, shot 9-of-15 from the field. Bottoms surpassed her career-high with five blocks.
UAA completes its four-game road trip Saturday night at Seattle University.
