ANCHORAGE (Nov. 27) - The UAA women's basketball team set a school record for points allowed in a 75-21 victory over Lincoln Christian College at the Sports Center tonight. Senior center Bell Jordan led UAA (3-3) with 26 points and 10 rebounds. The Angels (4-4) were led by guard Christina Wright's 11 points.
UAA started the game with a 21-0 run before Wright found the basket with 9:20 left in the first half. The Seawolves took a 40-9 advantage into the locker room, equaling a school record for fewest points allowed in a half.
Jordan's 26 points were a career-high, coming on 10-of-12 field goal shooting, 6-of-8 on free throws. She also grabbed four steals, as did teammates Laura Taborsky and Diana Gundersen.
Taborsky (11) and Tanya Nizich (10) also reached double-figures for UAA, while Taborsky also dished a game-high five assists.
The Seawolves are off until Dec. 6 when they begin Great Northwest Athletic Conference play at Western Oregon.
