ANCHORAGE - Senior center Dana Bottoms had 12 points and 11 rebounds, but poor shooting doomed the University of Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team Saturday as it fell 62-37 to No. 19 Seattle Pacific at the Sports Center tonight.
It was Bottoms' first double-double of the season for UAA (10-13, 8-10 Pac West), but as a team the Seawolves shot 19 percent for the game. Stephanie Urrutia sparked SPU (20-3, 15-3) with 15 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
Reserve guard Diana Gundersen was the only other Seawolf in double figures with 11 points, while guard Tiffany Massey had eight rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Seattle Pacific, which leads the Pac West and ranks No. 2 in the current NCAA Division II West Region poll, outrebounded UAA 55-40 and hit 38.5 percent of its shots.
UAA is back in action for the final time at home next week when it faces Seattle University on Thursday (7:05 p.m.) and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday (6 p.m.)
