MONMOUTH, Ore. (Oct. 19) - Sophomore Carolyn DeKay had 18 kills and a career-best 10 digs to help the UAA volleyball team to its fourth consecutive victory, 30-23, 31-29, 25-30, 33-31, over host Western Oregon at the New P.E. Building tonight.
Brianne McCabe slammed 17 kills and sophomore Jenny Mitchell had 10 kills on career-high .519 hitting for the Seawolves (10-9, 6-5 GNAC), who moved over the .500 mark for the first time this season. Tiffany Thorkildson led WOU (3-16, 3-8) with 15 kills.
Setter Kasey Kuelper had another outstanding match for the Seawolves, dishing a career-high 65 assists and recording a team-high 15 digs.
Led by DeKay's .516 attack percentage (18 kills, 2 errors, 31 attempts), the Seawolves hit .321 as a team and took advantage of a 63-51 advantage in digs.
UAA, which swept the season series from the Wolves, returns to the Sports Center for a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference matches next week against 7th-ranked Western Washington (Oct. 25) and Seattle Pacific (Oct. 26).
