LACEY, Wash. (Nov. 2) - Brianne McCabe and Carolyn DeKay combined for 30 kills as the UAA volleyball team won its fourth straight road match and seventh of eight overall by beating Saint Martin's 19-30, 30-26, 30-20, 30-24 at SMC Pavilion tonight.
UAA (13-10, 9-6 GNAC) also got double-doubles from O'Lita McWilliams (12 kills-13 digs) and Starr Burgan (11 kills-10 digs), the fifth of the season for each player. Saint Martin's fell to 1-18, 1-13, its ninth straight loss.
McCabe finished with 17 kills and a match-best .382 hitting percentage, while DeKay went for 13 and .167. It was only the second time in nine matches that the Seawolves recovered to win after dropping the first game.
UAA setter Kasey Kuelper went over the 50-assist mark for the second night in a row with 55, and added two service aces.
UAA is now 6-0 all-time against the Saints.
The Seawolves are off until next Saturday, Nov. 9, when they travel north to face arch-rival Alaska Fairbanks.
