SEATTLE (Sept. 27) - Junior O'Lita McWilliams had a career-high 16 kills, but it wasn't enough as the UAA volleyball team lost 30-22, 30-26, 25-30, 30-28 to Seattle Pacific at Royal Brougham Pavilion tonight.
UAA (6-7, 2-3 GNAC) managed only a .100 hitting percentage, while the Falcons (3-8, 2-2) hit .212, led by Monica Herrera's 22 kills.
The Seawolves dropped to 0-4 in road matches this season and 0-7 away from the Sports Center. Setter Kasey Kuelper had 40 assists, 14 digs and four aces, while libero Kirsten Hunley also recorded 14 digs.
SPU succeeded in shutting down UAA's two leading hitters - Carolyn DeKay and Brianne McCabe - holding the duo to a combined 14 kills on .057 hitting.
The Seawolves face a tough test Saturday when they travel to Bellingham, Wash., to face league-leading and 10th-ranked Western Washington at 6 p.m. ADT.
