ANCHORAGE (Jan. 23) - Mindy Mendenhall and Kamie Jo Massey scored 21 points apiece to pace the UAA women's basketball team to an 80-68 victory over Northwest Nazarene tonight at the Sports Center.

Mendenhall was active early, scoring a pair of buckets to spark the Seawolves to a 19-8 advantage with 11 minutes to play. After the Crusaders cut it to 24-18, junior center Mary Aschoff went to work inside, scoring seven of her 15 points in the final five minutes of the half.
Massey - who also had 14 rebounds, five assists and six steals - scored the first five points of the second half and assisted on a Mendenhall layup as UAA quickly extended its 35-21 halftime advantage to 42-21.
The Seawolves led by as many as 23 before the visitors from Nampa, Idaho, chipped away. NNU finally cut it to single digits on Kollmann's layup with 57 seconds remaining, but the Seawolves made 5 of 6 free throws to seal the game and run their home winning streak to six.
UAA shot a season-high 48.5 percent (32 of 66) from the field, while holding the Crusaders to 29.5 percent. The 80 points matched UAA's best offensive output of the season also.
