UAA men cut down 'Swords

HONOLULU (Dec. 15) - Peter Bullock scored 23 of his game-high 28 points in the second half to boost the UAA men's basketball team to one of the biggest comeback victories in school history, 86-72 over host Chaminade at McCabe Gymnasium tonight.

UAA (8-2) also got a huge lift from point guard Aaron Lawrence, who scored a career-high 21 points, dished five assists and committed only one turnover in 36 minutes. Chaminade (1-3), which was playing its first game since Nov. 26, got 15 points apiece from Sam Henning and Roy Stigall III.

The Seawolves were badly outplayed at the outset, trailing 40-21 with at the 4-minute mark. Chaminade shot a blazing 61.3 percent in the opening 20 minutes, while UAA managed only 11 of 29 from the floor. A late Seawolf run cut the deficit to 46-33 at halftime.

UAA came out hot in the second half, however, reversing the shooting trends and outrebounding the Silverswords. Bullock had all eight of his rebounds after the break and the Seawolves shot 60.9 percent to CU's 32.1 percent.

Kemmy Burgess scored 13 points and Adam Fitt-Chappell tallied 11 points and four rebounds as UAA's starters outscored CU's 79-47.

The win marked the third-largest comeback from a halftime deficit in UAA history and was the biggest-ever on the road.
