Falcons swoop on Seawolves

ANCHORAGE (Jan. 17) - Amber Nasby scored 11 points and Tanya Nizich added 10, but the Seawolves had trouble scoring all night in a 76-40 loss to 7th-ranked Seattle Pacific at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex tonight.


UAA (6-9, 1-5 GNAC) cut its deficit to 54-40 with 7:56 remaining before the Falcons (14-0, 5-0) finished the game on a 22-0 run. SPU was led by 17 points (8-9 FG) and seven points from forward Valerie Gustafson.


Kamie Jo Massey managed nine points but shot only 2 of 10 from the field as the Seawolves struggled to 20.3 percent (12-59) shooting. Mindy Mendenhall had eight points for UAA before fouling out.


UAA will hit the road for its next three games, beginning Thursday, Jan. 22 at Seattle University.
