Falcons fell Seawolves, 3-0

ANCHORAGE (Oct. 30) - Rachael Knecht made 21 digs but there were few other highlights for the UAA volleyball team as Seattle Pacific left town with a 30-24, 30-22, 30-25 Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory Saturday.

UAA (10-13, 4-11 GNAC) was led by eight kills apiece from Carolyn DeKay and Jenny Mitchell, while Katina Ozrelic had seven. SPU (12-10, 8-6) put four players in double-figure kills, led by Chelsey Myers' 17.

After trailing for the majority of Games 1 and 2, the Seawolves played tougher in the final frame. But after pulling within 25-24, the Falcons recovered to finish the sweep.

UAA's other statistical leaders were Bethan Murphy with 32 assists and Ozrelic with three blocks, including two solos. Knecht added a pair of aces.

The Seawolves, who now can finish .500 at best, remain home next week to host arch-rival Alaska Fairbanks. First serve for the Nov. 5 match is 7:05 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
