No. 3 Falcons fly past Seawolves

SEATTLE (Dec. 2) - UAA center Taylor Long scored 20 points, but the defending Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion was too tough on its home court in a 94-64 women's basketball loss to Seattle Pacific at Royal Brougham Pavilion tonight.

UAA (1-3, 0-1 GNAC) hung tight with the nation's No. 3 team for the first eight and half minutes, pulling within 9-7 on Tenecia Macon's fast-break layup. However, the Falcons (4-1, 1-0) answered with a 22-4 blitz and maintained a double-digit lead throughout.

Long did her damage on 7-of-14 shooting, while Cassie Bro chipped in 12 points and Macon scored 10 for UAA. Guard Stephanie Beason, who came in averaging 24 points per game, was held to six points on 1-of-7 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Falcons put five players in double-figures, led by Michelle Beaumont's 16 points (6-8 FG), and got at least one basket from all 12 players who saw action.

The Seawolves finish their road trip Saturday with a visit to Ellensburg, Wash., to take on Central Washington in a 6 p.m. AST tip-off.
