ARCATA, Calif. (Oct. 29) - Freshmen Heather Lyons and Caitlin Grenier each posted double-doubles Saturday as the Seawolf volleyball team dropped its fifth straight match, losing to host Humboldt State 33-31, 28-30, 30-25, 30-21.
The Seawolves (6-17, 3-12 GNAC) were led by junior Jasmine Ames' 14 kills and sophomore Rachael Knecht's 17 digs. HSU (11-11, 7-7) got double-figure kills from five players, including 13 by Kristen Kinzer, and an impressive 28 digs from libero Maya Domoto.
Lyons posted 13 kills and 13 digs for her team-high seventh double-double of the season. Grenier's 10 kills and 12 digs marked her second such performance. Junior middle blocker Chelsey Glines had 12 kills for UAA.
The Seawolves return home for their final three matches, starting Saturday, Nov. 5 against arch-rival Alaska Fairbanks. First serve is at 7 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
