FAIRBANKS (Feb. 12) - Stephanie Beason scored 17 points, but there were no other highlights for the Seawolf women's basketball team Saturday in a 78-33 loss to rival Alaska Fairbanks at the Patty Center.
The Nanooks were led by 23 points from guard Adrienne Taalak and 15 from center Cody Burgess.
UAA (8-13, 3-9 GNAC) was hurt by 28 turnovers, and got outrebounded 43-25 by the Nanooks (11-10, 7-5).
Beason shot 3 of 8 from three-point land and 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and grabbed five rebounds. Forward Kelsey Larsen had a second straight solid outing for the Seawolves, going for six rebounds and four assists.
UAA returns home next week to take on Humboldt State (Feb. 17) and Western Oregon (Feb. 19). Both games tip at 6 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
