ANCHORAGE ? Joanna Johnson's match-high 18 kills weren't enough Saturday to fend off a hungry Saint Martin's squad as the Saints earned their first volleyball win of the year with a 30-27, 30-17, 30-21 win over host Alaska Anchorage at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

UAA (5-10, 1-8 GNAC) also got a match-best 16 digs from junior libero Cristal Negron, but the Saints (1-17, 1-8) showed more composure and used solid outings from Shealun Campisi (15 kills, 8 digs) and Andrea Tarbet (12 kills) to earn their first-ever win in Anchorage.

Rachel Kidwell and Johnson made 11 digs apiece, and setter Milica Micovic dished 35 assists for the home team. For Johnson, it was a career-best in kills and her sixth ?double-double of the season.

The Seawolves will play two more home matches next week when they host Great Northwest Athletic Conference co-leader Western Washington (Thu., Oct. 11) and Central Washington (Sat., Oct. 13). Both contests begin at 7 p.m. ADT.
