MONMOUTH, Ore. ? Stacey Bennett and Kayla Mainer combined for 36 kills Saturday as host Western Oregon handed Alaska Anchorage a 30-22, 30-15, 30-19 defeat at the New P.E. Building.
UAA (5-18, 1-16 GNAC) got a team-high seven kills from senior middle blocker Kim Stolk as they Seawolves lost their 11th straight match. WOU (16-7, 13-3) also got match-highs of 18 digs and six aces from Mainer to score a key victory in its quest for an NCAA Tournament berth.
Junior outside hitter Rhea Cardwell had six kills and a team-high 13 digs for the Seawolves, who close their season next week with a home match against arch-rival Alaska Fairbanks. That match begins at 7 p.m. AST at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
