ANCHORAGE ? Junior forward Ashley Thompson scored 16 points and senior guard Kalhie Quinones dished 10 assists as Alaska Anchorage breezed to an 85-16 victory over Lincoln Christian at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on Saturday night.
The Seawolves (2-0) also got 10 points from junior center Dasha Basova as they set school records for fewest points allowed in a game and in a half (4).
LCC (0-2), an NCAA Div. III school from Lincoln, Ill., was led by guard Kim Kersey's six points.
UAA, the 14th-ranked team in NCAA Div. II, shot 49 percent on the night while holding the Angels to 16 percent and forcing 44 turnovers.
The Seawolves got five rebounds apiece from junior forward Ruby Williams and junior center Rebecca Kielpinski. Junior forward Lillie Parks made six of UAA's 27 steals.
The victory also extended UAA's school-record homecourt winning streak to 18 games.
UAA next heads to Div. I Washington State for a Monday night (6 p.m. AST) exhibition contest against the Cougars. The Seawolves' next counting game will be Nov. 20 in the first round of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout against Cleveland State.
