ANCHORAGE ? Senior guard Kalhie Quinones scored 13 points and junior center Rebecca Kielpinski grabbed nine rebounds as the 5th-ranked Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team rolled to a 92-43 win over Chaminade at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on Monday night.
Nine Seawolves scored seven or more points and 13 of 14 players found the scoring column. The win gives UAA (7-0) its second-best start to a season behind last year's 12-0 record.
Chaminade (0-3) was led by 11 points from guard Simrin Cummins.
After jumping to a 20-0 lead in a 67-point win over the Silverswords on Friday, UAA began Monday's contest with a 12-0 run in the first 3 minutes, 15 seconds, and never looked back.
Three Seawolf newcomers enjoyed season-high scoring outputs, led by nine points from guard Danielle Dekel. Forward Lillie Parks and guard Nikki Aden both scored eight points.
UAA equaled a pair of school records in the win, launching 36 three-point attempts and posting a plus-33 rebound margin (56-23). The Seawolves knocked down 12 treys, led by Dekel's 3-of-5 shooting.
Quinones posted the best individual line of the evening with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, five rebounds, eight assists and no turnovers.
Combined with their 98-31 win over CU on Friday and a 94-58 win over Mesa State on Saturday, the Seawolves have now scored 90 or more three straight games for the first time since the 1995-96 season.
UAA, which extended its home-court win streak to 23, returns to action Friday (5:30 p.m.) and Saturday (5 p.m.) when its hosts Texas-Permian Basin at the WFSC.
