SPOKANE, Wash. – Three University of Alaska Anchorage players were among the 28 student-athletes named Wednesday to the 2006-07 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Team.
Sophomore guard Limor Pelleg (3.75, management, Rishon LeZion, Israel) earned the fourth-highest grade point average on the squad, and was joined by seniors Meghan Vaughan (3.66, public health, Dalton, Mass.) and Mari Callahan (3.20, history, Roosevelt, Utah). It was the first such honor for all three Seawolves.
To be eligible for the team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university. Vaughan, a one-year transfer, qualified as an exception by virtue of her graduate-student status.
