ANCHORAGE ? The Alaska Anchorage volleyball team snapped its three-match losing streak in resounding fashion Thursday with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-8 rout of Saint Martin's in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
Sophomore middle blocker Cortney Lundberg led the way for UAA (13-12, 5-7 GNAC) with 11 kills and four blocks, while senior outside hitter Rhea Cardwell had her 13th double-double of the year with 10 kills and 10 digs.
The Saints (4-16, 1-10) were led by five kills and three digs from outside hitter Kirstyn Druzianich.
Lundberg, a 6-1 middle blocker from Hardin, Mont., tallied the best individual attack percentage by a GNAC player this year at .733 (11 kills-0 errors-15 attacks), with many of her smashes going straight down in the middle of the court.
Senior outside hitter Joanna Johnson also posted a career-best attack percentage (.429) with six kills and no errors on 14 attempts. UAA's offense was smooth all night thanks to junior setter Calli Scott, who had 36 assists, six digs and three total blocks.
UAA's .371 attack percentage was the third-best figure by a GNAC team this season, while the Saints managed to hit just .032. The Seawolves also outblocked the visitors from Lacey, Wash., 7-1.
Junior libero Stacie Meisner had a match-high 13 digs for the Seawolves, who will host league-leading and 24th-ranked Western Oregon on Saturday at the WFSC. First serve is 7 p.m.
