MONMOUTH, Ore. ? Kenny Barker scored 23 points and backcourt mates Brandon Walker and Darren Nye led an efficient offensive display Thursday to power Alaska Anchorage to a 75-54 men's basketball victory over host Western Oregon at the New P.E. Building.

The Seawolves (9-8, 3-1 GNAC) shot 57 percent from three-point range and committed a season-low six turnovers to earn their third straight victory and stay within a half-game of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference lead.

Western Oregon (7-8, 1-3) was led by 13 points and 11 rebounds from forward Mike McLaughlin, but the Wolves managed just 35.3 percent shooting.

Walker scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half as UAA took control with a 12-0 run midway through the opening stanza. The 6-3 sophomore from Hayward, Calif., finished shooting 7 of 11 from the field and 4 of 6 on three-pointers, while tallying team-highs of seven rebounds and three blocks.

The Seawolves were never threatened after taking a 41-30 lead at halftime.

Barker topped 20 points for the fourth straight game, shooting 9 of 13 overall and 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. The 6-3 senior also had six rebounds.

Nye, meanwhile, continued his hot play of late with a career-high 15 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3FG, 3-4 FT), plus six assists and two steals. Senior center Jeremiah Trueman had six points and five rebounds for UAA, and sophomore guard Kevin White chipped in with six points, four assists and no turnovers.

The Seawolves next travel to Lacey, Wash., for a 6:30 p.m. AST showdown with Saint Martin's (13-5, 1-3).
