Huskies come back to tie Seawolves, 3-3

ANCHORAGE - Michigan Tech's Derek Kitti scored a game-tying, shorthanded goal with just 28 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Huskies to a 3-3 overtime tie with Alaska Anchorage Friday night in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Sullivan Arena.

Three UAA goals in the second period had given the Seawolves (8-10-3 overall, 5-9-3 WCHA) a 3-0 lead, but the Huskies (5-18-4 overall, 1-14-4 WCHA) responded with three unanswered goals the rest of the way to force what turned out to be a scoreless overtime frame in front of 3,436 fans.

Sophomore Kane Lafranchise brought the Seawolves up by two with his second goal of the season at 5:58 in the period. Junior Brian Bales and freshman Tyler Moir were credited with the assists.

Junior Jared Tuton added the Seawolves final tally of the evening with his first goal of the season at 8:50 of the second. Tuton received the puck from Trevor Hunt and Moir. The two assists from Moir, mark his first multi-point game of the season.
