ANCHORAGE ? Brandon Walker had 23 points and 17 rebounds and fellow sophomore Lonnie Ridgeway scored a career-high 22 points Saturday as Alaska Anchorage earned a 90-55 victory over Lincoln Christian at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
Senior center Jeremiah Trueman tallied 20 points for the Seawolves (6-7), who won their third straight and notched a season-high point total.
The Preachers (3-9), of Lincoln, Ill., were led by 14 points from reserve guard Ben Paulsen.
Powered by 16 points from Ridgeway, UAA jumped to an early lead against LCC for the second straight night and took a 53-25 halftime advantage. Things never got closer in the second stanza as senior guard Kenny Barker scored eight of his 12 points after the break.
Junior guard Darren Nye had six points and six assists for UAA, while freshman guard Steve White finished with six points and four assists.
UAA shot an impressive 55 percent from the floor, led by Trueman (10 of 14), Ridgeway (9 of 13) and Walker (9 of 17).
Ridgeway topped his previous career-high of 14 points and dished a personal-best five assists as well.
Meanwhile, Walker became the 20th player in program history to reach 15 rebounds in a game and the first since Carl Arts had 16 in the 2007 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout against Texas Tech.
The Seawolves return to action Thursday, Jan. 8, when they host Northwest Nazarene (7 p.m. AST) to begin defense of their Great Northwest Athletic Conference crown.
