Beavers drop Nanooks, 70-59

ANCHORAGE – Minot State point guard Sacarra Molina tallied 19 points, six assists and three steals Saturday to lead her team to a 70-59 women's basketball victory over Alaska Fairbanks in Game 3 of the 2010 AT&T Hoops Classic at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

The Beavers (8-3), No. 14 in the NAIA Division II ranks, also got 15 points and six rebounds from center Caroline Folven to secure the victory.

The Nanooks (0-8) were led by 21 points and eight rebounds from senior center Nicole Bozek.

Molina, a sophomore from Hinsdale, Mont., shot 7 of 10 from the field and added five rebounds to earn AT&T Player of the Game honors. The visitors from North Dakota also got a huge boost off the bench from guard Kallie Erickson, who nailed 4 of 5 three-pointers and finished with 14 points, helping MSU erase an early 12-4 deficit.
