Florida Tech takes down UAF

ANCHORAGE – Florida Tech senior Justin Sedlak scored 29 points and Anthony Jackson came off the bench to notch a double-double Sunday, leading their team to a 94-75 men's basketball victory over Alaska Fairbanks in the AT&T Jamboree at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

The Panthers (9-3), from Melbourne, Fla., got 16 points and 12 rebounds from Jackson, while Sedlak made his first seven field goals and finished 11 of 16 overall and 3 of 5 from three-point range.

The Nanooks (3-4) were led by 22 points and six rebounds from senior forward Parrish West but were outrebounded 50-27 and outshot 52 percent to 39 percent by the Panthers.

Florida Tech also benefitted from hot shooting by Jackson (16 pts, 7-10 FG), guard Simon Cummings (15 pts, 5-8 FG, 4-4 FT) and forward Derek Hellemann (13 pts, 4-6 FG, 5-6 FT). Jackson grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, and Tech point guard Julius Reed posted six points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Sunshine State Conference club.
