Johansson nets all-tourney recognition

SEATTLE – Alaska Anchorage sophomore Hanna Johansson was named late Monday night to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball West Regional Championships all-tournament team as the event concluded at Royal Brougham Pavilion.

Johansson, a 6-2 forward, averaged 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in UAA's two playoff contests, including her first career double-double – 18 points and 10 rebounds – in Friday's 69-50 first-round win over Cal Poly Pomona.

The Gothenburg, Sweden, native is one of four starters returning next season for the Seawolves, who finished their season with a 24-5 record.

Top-seeded Seattle Pacific won the tournament with a 76-68 victory over 6th-seeded Chico State on Monday, advancing to next week's Elite Eight in St. Joseph, Mo.
