ANCHORAGE (Nov. 24) - Belmont guard Kerron Johnson had 20 points and seven assists Saturday to lead his team to a 70-67 victory over Oral Roberts in the third-place game of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout at Sullivan Arena.

The Bruins (5-1) also got a game-high 22 points and four blocks from forward Blake Jenkins as they claimed two victories in their first-ever trip to the 35-year-old tournament.

The Golden Eagles (3-3) got 13 points and a career-high 16 rebounds from forward Steven Roundtree, but the Southland Conference squad was outshot 58 percent to 37 percent and lost despite a 42-23 rebounding advantage.

After trailing much of the game, Oral Roberts started hot in the second half and took a 56-48 lead. However, the Bruins, from the Ohio Valley Conference, went on an 8-0 run to tie and surged ahead on several big plays by Johnson and Jenkins.

Forward Trevor Noack also tallied double figures with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Bruins.
