ANCHORAGE – Led by big games from all three of its
seniors, the Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team opened the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference slate with an 86-58 win over Alaska Fairbanks at
the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on Saturday.
The Seawolves (4-2, 1-0 GNAC) got game-highs of 21 points, nine assists and six
steals from senior point guard Sasha King as they won for the 11th straight
time against their in-state rivals.
The Nanooks (0-7, 0-1) were led by 18 points from guard April Fultz as they
remained winless on the season.

through the first half. Jordan Martin, a 5th-year senior from East Anchorage
High School, came off the bench to shoot 4-of-4 in the opening stanza and
finished with a career-high 13 points.
After seeing the lead shaved to 44-38 with 13 minutes left, Martin hit a layup
on a quick feed from Kylie Burns to start a 13-3 Seawolf spurt over the next
four minutes. Senior Alysa Horn scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half
and posted a career-high 14 rebounds as UAA continued to pull away.

points in just 19 minutes, while junior wing Kylie Burns finished with eight
points and 10 rebounds. Redshirt freshman guard Jessica Madison also helped in
the second-half surge with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting.
