Lions roar past Tornados, 69-42

ANCHORAGE – Saint Leo guards Chelsea Williams and Teresa Manigrasso scored 15 points apiece Friday to lead a balanced effort as the Lions advanced to the AT&T Hoops Classic title game with a 69-42 win over Brevard in first-round action at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

Saint Leo (10-0) also got 10 points and nine rebounds from AT&T Player of the Game Chelsea Connelly, who sank 4 of 7 shots and dished three assists.

Brevard (2-6) got nine points off the bench from guard Madison Lenox but the North Carolina squad shot just 20 percent from the field and was outrebounded 55-37 by their opponents from Florida.

The Tornados fall into Saturday's 5 p.m. consolation game, while the Lions will face the winner of Cameron/Alaska Anchorage at 7 p.m. for the championship.
