UAF downs Kingsville with 2nd half surge

ANCHORAGE – Alaska Fairbanks forward Jordan Wilson scored 26 points to lead a huge second-half surge Saturday, powering the Nanooks to a 75-60 women's basketball victory over Texas A&M Kingsville in the Seawolf Hoops Classic at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Nanooks (8-4) trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half and erased a 33-30 halftime deficit behind the play of Wilson, who shot 13 of 18 from the floor and grabbed a game-high six rebounds.

The Javelinas (0-9) were led by 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from forward Lauren Jay.

Guard Briana Kirk shot 4 of 4 – including three three-pointers – and finished with 11 points for UAF, while point guard Benissa Bulaya had eight points and 11 assists.
