BEMIDJI, Minn. – The nationally-ranked No. 20 Bemidji State Beavers furnished three goals in the third period to shut out the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, 4-0, in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game Saturday at the Sanford Center.

The Seawolves (1-5-0, 0-2-0 WCHA) kept the Beavers (6-2-0) off the score sheet in the first 20 minutes of play, before allowing a strike in the second and three in the final stanza. A night after forcing extra minutes, UAA allowed the Beavers to sweep the series and stay undefeated in league play at 6-0-0.

Scoring for the Beavers was Gerry Fitzgerald on the power play in the second at 6:57. Meanwhile, the trio of goals scored in the third were from Dylan McCroy (2:31), Kyle Bauman (5:40) and T.J. Roo (16:03). Bauman's strike also came on the man advantage.

Junior goaltender Olivier Mantha made 31 saves in the loss, including 13 in the third period. BSU's netminder Michael Bitzer collected the shutout with a relative ease, stopping just 17 shots – UAA second fewest of the season.
