Lemar helps UC Davis drop Drake

ANCHORAGE – Senior guard Brynton Lemar scored 17 points and dished five assists Friday to power UC Davis to a 64-58 men's basketball victory over Drake in the consolation semifinals of the GCI Great Alaska Shootout at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Aggies (5-2) also got 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting and five assists from guard Darius Graham to advance to Saturday's 2 p.m. fourth-place game against Oakland.

The Bulldogs (1-4) were led by 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from reserve forward Casey Schlatter but the Missouri Valley Conference squad was dominated 33-18 on the boards.

UC Davis, from the Big West Conference, was keyed by 41 percent three-point accuracy, with Lemar and Graham combining to shoot 6 of 9 from long range.

Drake will play host Alaska Anchorage for seventh place in a noon AST tip-off on Saturday.
