Box Score ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Alec Butcher scored twice for Alaska Anchorage in a 4-2 loss to Northern Michigan Friday.
NMU got off to a quick start with a goal by Luke Voltin 1:36 into the game.
The Wildcat lead grew to 2-0 after a goal by Zach Diamantoni at 14:41 of the second period.
Alec Butcher opened the scoring in the third period with his first goal of the evening at 15:48. Butcher tapped in a pass on the backdoor from Jordan Xavier. Jarrett Brown also recorded an assist on the goal.
Troy Loggins netted his 13th goal of the season for Northern Michigan at 18:03.
Butcher and Xavier connected for the Seawolves second goal of the evening thanks to an extra attacker with 11 seconds remaining.
Adam Rockwood concluded the scoring with an empty-net goal for NMU with one second remaining.
Northern Michigan led 30-20 in shots. UAA finished 1-for-5 on the man-advantage and NMU was 0-2.
Olivier Mantha finished with 26 saves for UAA.
Alaska Anchorage and Northern Michigan will close the season series Saturday.
