Hockey skates to tie with #10 BGSU

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Alaska Anchorage picked up its first WCHA point of the season after skating to a 0-0 tie with No. 10 Bowling Green. The Falcons earned two points after scoring in the 3-on-3 overtime period.

The Seawolves energy from the opening faceoff generated plenty of offense with the Green and Gold out-shooting the Falcons 12-7 in the opening period.

UAA finished with the edge in shots 34-29 for the game.

After a scoreless 125 minutes the two teams played a 3-on-3 overtime where the Falcons finally lit the lamp.

Chris Pohlkamp scored thanks to an assist from Lukas Craggs at 2:20 of the second overtime period.

Brody Claeys (1-1-1), who made a number of stellar saves in goal, finished with 28 for the Seawolves.

UAA's penalty kill was outstanding killing off all five chances for BGSU. Alaska Anchorage was scoreless on two man-advantage chances.

Alaska Anchorage (1-5-1, 0-4-1) and No. 10 Bowling Green (6-2-2, 1-1-1) will play Saturday at 7:07 pm.
