Rebounding, free throws key in UAA win

TAIWAN – The University of Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team had five players score in double-digits in an 89-64 win over the Univeriste de Lyon Wednesday.

For the third straight game Hannah Wandersee led the Seawolves with a game-high 19 points. The Kodiak, native shot 78-percent (7-9) from the field and made all five free throws.

Sala Langi finished with a double-double thanks to 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Pacifica, Calif., native shot a game-high 80-percent (4-5).

Tara Thompson finished with 12 points, and Sydni Stallworth and Yazmeen Goo each finished with 11.

Marie Eve Paget led Lyon with 16 points.

Free throws were heavily in the Seawolves favor. UAA shot 27-37 (73-percent) compared to UDL who shot 11-27 (41-percent).

Anchorage cleaned up the glass out-rebounding Lyon 46-28, including 19-10 on the offensive end.

UAA is currently 2-1 and will close out pool play against Fo Guang Thursday at 10 pm (Alaska time).
