Alaska Anchorage will face Minnesota State, the nation's top-ranked team, on the road this weekend in Minnesota.

The Mavericks lead the all-time series with the Seawolves 50-25-10 and hold a 28-10-4 edge in Mankato. 

Top Freshman
Two of the WCHA's top scoring freshman will face-up this weekend in Mankato. Nick Wicks (3-6-9) of UAA and Lucas Sowder (2-7-9) are tied for first in the league with nine points. Wicks has tallied at least one point in four of the team's five series this season. Fellow Seawolf Taylor Lantz ranks 10th in the league in freshman scoring with five points (1-4-5). 

D-Man Scoring
Tomi Hiekkavirta is currently tied for eighth in the WCHA in defenseman scoring with seven points. The Helsinki, Finland, native has seven points (2-5-7) this season. 

Spread the Wealth
The Seawolves have 17 different players with at least one point this season. 

Second Period
The second period has been both friend and foe to UAA this season. The Seawolves have scored 10 of its 21 goals in the middle frame, but have also given up 12 of their 29 goals in the second. 

Power Play
Alaska Anchorage ranks fourth in the WCHA on the powerplay (17%, 6-35).

The freshman class leads the team in goals (12), assists (17) and points (29).
