Hockey hosts Ferris State this weekend

Alaska Anchorage will host Ferris State for a two-game WCHA series this weekend. The series will be the last one at the Seawolf Sports Complex until Jan. 4-5, 2020 when Alaska Anchorage hosts Lake Superior State.  

Series
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with the Seawolves 16-3-3. FSU leads the series in Alaska 4-3-2. 

Top Freshman
This year's freshman class has more points (31) this season than the other three classes combined (28). Freshman Nick Wicks is tied for second in the WCHA with 10 points (three goals, seven assists). 

Power-Play Points
Freshman Nick Wicks and senior Tomi Hiekkavirta are both ranked in the top-10 in the WCHA in power-play points. Wicks is tied for third with six points (two goals, four assists) and Hiekkavirta is tied for ninth with five points (one goal, four assists).  

Defenseman Scoring
Senior Tomi Hiekkavirta is tied for 12th in the WCHA in defenseman scoring with seven points (1-6-7), five of which have come on the powerplay. 

Bad Boys
The two most penalized teams in the WCHA will face-off this weekend in Anchorage. Ferris State leads the league averaging 16.8 penalty minutes a game, while Alaska Anchorage is second with 16.4. FSU ranks fourth nationally and UAA is fifth. 

Limit Shots
Alaska Anchorage is 2-3-1 this season when it allows 29 or fewer shots and 0-5-1 when it allows 30 or more.
