ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Ferris State scored three first period goals in a 4-1 win over Alaska Anchorage at the Seawolf Sports Complex Friday night.
Liam MacDougall scored the first FSU goal 11 seconds into the contest.
FSU followed up with goals by Coale Norris, and Justin Michaelian at 10:41 and 16:28 of the first period.
After a scoreless second period, Joe Rutkowski tallied the final Bulldog goal at 7:29 of the third period.
Tomi Hiekkavirta and Jared Nash set-up Zac Masson for his first goal of the season at 16:16 of the final frame.
UAA out-shot FSU 29-22, but six trips to the penalty box hindered the Seawolves. Ferris State made three trips to the box.
Kristian Stead made five saves and allowed three goals, before he was replaced by Kris Carlson who finished with 13 saves and one goal over the final 40 minutes.
Alaska Anchorage and Ferris State will close out the weekend series Saturday.
