Alaska Anchorage will play its final non-conference series of the season at Arizona State this weekend (feb. 14-15).
Series
This weekend marks just the second time that the Seawolves and Sun Devils have faced each other. UAA won the previous meeting 3-2 in overtime in Anchorage in 2015. The game was the first game for Arizona State against a Div. I opponent.
WCHA Playoffs
UAA is currently holding on to the final playoff spot, eighth, in the WCHA standings with 20 points. Lake Superior is seventh with 27 points, while Ferris State is ninth with 17 points.
Overtime
UAA has played an overtime game each of the last three weeks. The Seawolves are 0-2-5 in overtime games this season and have earned the second point in three of their six WCHA overtime games.
Multi-Point Trio
UAA had three players record multiple points in last week's 5-4 overtime loss. Freshman
Zach Nazzarett scored two goals,
Tanner Schachle scored one goal and two assists and
Luc Brown finished with three assists.
Nine Goals
Last week's 5-4 overtime loss at Bowling Green tied for the highest combined score of a game this season. Northern Michigan defeated Alaska Anchorage 6-3 on Jan. 11th.
Freshmen Class
The freshmen class leads the team in goals (33), assists (37) and points (70).
Scoring Leader
Freshman
Rylee St. Onge scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season at Bowling Green last week. He also leads the team with 15 points thanks to seven assists to go along with his eight goals.
Last Time Out
Bowling Green swept both games last week in Ohio. The Seawolves tied up game one with less than one minute remaining, but the Falcons won in overtime. BGSU won game two 4-1.
Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will play its final home series of the season when it hosts Bemidji State Feb. 21-22.
