ANCHORAGE – University of Alaska Anchorage Director of Athletics Greg Myford announced that former student-athlete Travis Parrish has joined the department as the senior development officer.
"Travis steps into this role with a full knowledge and understanding of what it means to wear a UAA Seawolves uniform," said Myford. "He knows the value of a UAA education and all that his UAA student-athlete experience provided and prepared him for. Those are the stories that our fans want to hear, be a part of and support."
Parrish comes to UAA after serving as the manager of business development for Learfield IMG College Mustang Sports Properties at Cal Poly.
Prior to his work at Cal Poly, Parrish was the coordinator of business development for Learfield IMG College Seawolves Sports Properties at Alaska Anchorage.
"I am incredibly grateful and excited to be back," said Parrish. "I loved my time at UAA as a student-athlete and wouldn't trade those experiences or relationships for anything. I want to help make sure others have the same, and even greater opportunities. The Seawolves are leaders and winners and I'm excited to help continue that tradition of representing Alaska and Anchorage the best we possibly can."
Parrish earned both a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business administration from Alaska Anchorage.
Parrish served a two-year full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Malaysia and Singapore before enrolling at Utah State where he was an outside linebacker for the Aggies. He then transferred to UAA where he was a two-time all-academic selection for the men's basketball team.
Parrish resides in Anchorage with his wife Lexie and daughter Zoe.

Travis Parrish was a member of the UAA men's basketball team for three seasons, and was twice named to the GNAC All-Academic Team.
