Cole commits to UAA hockey

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Conor Cole, a forward from St. John's, Newfoundland, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Alaska Anchorage head hockey coach Matt Shasby announced.

Cole, 5-10, 183 lbs., has tallied 129 points in 194 games during his four-year junior career. He started his career in 2018-19 with the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots (OJHL) scoring seven goals and 13 assists in 45 games. Cole's offensive production increased to 53 points (22 goals, 30 assists) the following season with the Patriots. He joined the Maryland Black Bears (NAHL) for the 2020-21 season finishing with 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists), and currently has 26 points (six goals, 20 assists) this season with the Black Bears.

"We really like Conor's all-around game," said head coach Matt Shasby. "He is a very cerebral player who plays the game the right way every single shift. Conor is another captain out of junior hockey and comes with rave reviews about his ability to be a leader and teammate."
