Dawson to join hockey team

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage head hockey coach Matt Shasby announced that Dorian Dawson has signed a grant in aid agreement to join the program next season.

Dawson, a native of Collingwood, Ont., played two seasons at Brown University. The 6-2, 205lbs. defenseman, recorded four assists in 64 games during his two-year career for the Brown Bears.

"Dorian is exactly what we are looking for when we are trying to build the leadership group for next season," said head coach Matt Shasby. "He is experienced in college hockey and is an elite student in the classroom. We feel very fortunate to be having a high-character student-athlete like Dorian joining us next year."

Dawson recorded 70 points (18 goals, 52 assists) in 201 games during his junior career that included stops at Gloucester Rangers (CCHL), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Kings (NAHL) and Sioux City Musketeers (USHL).
